Shri Mataji: They are stagnated at the point of dharma, so they start telling people 'you do this way,...'
Shri Mataji''s words do not merely pierce the veil of spiritual complacency; they issue a devastating indictment of the very collective She founded. To be "stagnated at the point of dharma" is not a gentle observation—it is the diagnosis of a terminal failure. The Sahaja Yogis have not merely stalled; they have actively abandoned the revolutionary core of Shri Mataji's teaching, which was nothing less than the fulfillment of Christ's promise: the actual, living reality of the Kingdom of God.
In a tragic inversion of Her mission, they have traded the blazing, transformative power of the Resurrection for the cold comfort of ritual and moral posturing. They cling to the empty shell of "dharma"—the rules, the hierarchies, the superficial righteousness—while having completely let go of the spirit. They have, in effect, built a new church while entirely forgetting the message of its founder, Jesus, and the Feminine, Cool Breeze of the Pentecost that Shri Mataji embodied and offered.
This is not a call to rise. It is a call to repentance. The ascent does not begin where dharma ends; it begins where this betrayal is acknowledged, and where the collective finally turns back from its self-satisfied stagnation to embrace the terrifying and glorious Kingdom it was entrusted to build. The Cool Breeze still beckons, but it now blows past the institutions that have forsaken its source.

Shri Mataji “Also, I have seen some Sahaja Yogis who start new methods in Sahaja Yoga: 'You do like this, so it will be alright; you do like that, and it will be all right'—-because they are stagnated at the point of dharma, so they start telling people: 'you do this way, you do that way'. But when you rise to the point of truth, then you don't do any rituals, you don't need any rituals. You are not bothered, because you are in Dharma and you are standing on the truth. And truth is much greater than Dharma.” Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi"

(Thanks Violet for this priceless, unassailable vindication of all
that we stood for all these years, a stand for which we are labeled
as non-SYs by WCASY, leaders and the entire SY organization. And the
truth we are standing on is much greater than all the so-called Dharma
of the SYSSR lawgivers, and the thousands that follow them.)

The inner experience of Jesus is available to all. Beware that no one
leads you astray, including the thousands of fools now preaching the
petty SYSSR (Sahaja Yoga Subtle System Religion). For the Son of Man
is within you. Follow after Him! Those who seek Him will find Him. Go
then and preach the gospel of the Kingdom. Do not lay down any rules
beyond what has been appointed to you, and do not give a law like the
lawgivers of the SYSSR, lest you be constrained and conditioned by it.
Enlighten all that they only need to maintain Silence on Self in the

Dear All,
In this unprecedented appended talk, Shri Mataji clarifies that fanatical SYs are not full SYs. Shri Mataji describes a full SY as someone that has the completion of their Shraddha, at which time they go beyond Dharma. They become 'Dharmatit'—where the dharma is actually established in the brain.”Then"Shri Mataji says"you don't have to do any rituals":
“Sahaja Dharma becomes a part and parcel within us, which is a very great achievement, because then, you don't have to do any rituals.”
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahasrara Puja, Cabella, Italy - 04/05/97
Furthermore, in this talk Shri Mataji says that if a person is standing on the truth which is beyond Dharma and is greater than Dharma, they will not care for any absurd ideas regarding religion, not even the Sahaja religion, but will see the global truth within themselves:

“For example, a person who is standing on truth, he doesn't care for any absurd ideas about religion, even about Sahaja religion. He doesn't care that after all 'this is Sahaja, this is not Sahaja'. He goes beyond, in the sense that he sees a global truth within himself. He sees the truth which is all pervading—not only sees, but he knows and feels he is in the truth. So when Dharma flowers into truth, it's a very beautiful happening. And that should happen to all of you.”

The Great Betrayal: Ritualistic Stagnation in Sahaja Yoga
Abstract: This paper presents a scathing critique of the ritualistic stagnation that has plagued the Sahaja Yoga movement, reducing it to a shell of its founder Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi's original vision. Drawing upon Shri Mataji's own words and the analysis of her teachings on adishakti.org, this paper argues that the modern Sahaja Yoga organization has betrayed her mission by remaining mired in the superficialities of dharma, failing to progress to the profound spiritual truth she championed. This betrayal represents a tragedy of unparalleled proportions in human history, a denial of the collective resurrection and the Kingdom of God that Shri Mataji declared was at hand.
Introduction: The Promise and the Betrayal
On May 5, 1970, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi opened the Sahasrara Chakra, the thousand-petaled lotus, an event that was to usher in the Age of Aquarius and the collective resurrection of humanity.[1] This was the dawn of a new era, the inauguration of the Kingdom of God on Earth, a time when humanity could transcend the limitations of the mind and achieve a higher state of consciousness. Yet, more than five decades later, the promise of this momentous event remains largely unfulfilled. The Sahaja Yoga organization, the very vehicle that was meant to carry this message of transformation to the world, has instead become a stagnant pool of ritualism, a monument to a betrayed vision.
This paper will soundly demolish the ritualistic mindset that continues to pervade Sahaja Yoga in 2025, a mindset that Shri Mataji herself vehemently denounced. It will demonstrate that the organization today is a hollow shell, devoid of the vast and profound teachings of the Paraclete Shri Mataji and Jesus Christ, as openly declared on the adishakti.org website, the sole spiritual oasis in the barren desert that is contemporary Sahaja Yoga. Finally, it will conclude that the failure of Sahaja Yogis to declare the truth of the Resurrection and the Kingdom of God, despite Shri Mataji's repeated exhortations, constitutes a tragedy of unparalleled proportions, a betrayal of both their spiritual mother and the future of humanity.
The Stagnation at the Point of Dharma
Shri Mataji's teachings are replete with warnings against the dangers of ritualism and the stagnation that occurs when spiritual seekers become fixated on the external aspects of religion. She saw this as a fundamental obstacle to true spiritual growth, a trap that prevents the aspirant from ascending to the higher realms of consciousness. In a particularly scathing indictment of this tendency within Sahaja Yoga, she declared:
Also, I have seen some Sahaja Yogis who start new methods in Sahaja Yoga: 'You do like this, so it will be alright; you do like that, and it will be all right'—because they are stagnated at the point of dharma, so they start telling people: 'you do this way, you do that way'. But when you rise to the point of truth, then you don't do any rituals, you don't need any rituals. You are not bothered, because you are in Dharma and you are standing on the truth. And truth is much greater than Dharma.
[2]
This quote encapsulates the core of the problem. The Sahaja Yogis who have become entangled in rituals are not advancing spiritually. They are, in Shri Mataji's words, stagnated at the point of dharma.
They have mistaken the map for the territory, the signpost for the destination. Instead of seeking the direct experience of the truth, they have become preoccupied with the creation of new methods and procedures, a sure sign of spiritual immaturity. They have become the very lawgivers
that Shri Mataji warned against, constraining themselves and others with man-made rules and regulations.
The Betrayal of the Paraclete's Mission
The stagnation at the level of dharma is not merely a matter of spiritual immaturity; it is a fundamental betrayal of Shri Mataji's mission as the Paraclete, the Comforter promised by Jesus Christ. Her purpose was not to establish another religion with its own set of rituals and dogmas, but to usher in a new age of spiritual awakening, a collective resurrection of humanity. By reducing her teachings to a system of chakra balancing and mantra recitation, the Sahaja Yoga organization has obscured her true identity and the revolutionary import of her message.
The adishakti.org website stands as a lone testament to the vastness of Shri Mataji's teachings, a stark contrast to the narrow and ritualistic interpretation of Sahaja Yoga that prevails elsewhere. It is a repository of her wisdom, a declaration of her true status as the Paraclete, and a call to embrace the transformative power of her message. The website's very existence is a rebuke to the Sahaja Yoga organization, a reminder of the spiritual treasures they have abandoned in favor of empty rituals.
Shri Mataji's mandate to her followers was clear and unequivocal:
Now the Time has come to start talking, announcing, telling about it to everyone. Otherwise the world would say that we never knew about it.... You must have that vision before you that I have put many a times before you people that you have to emancipate the humanity.
[3]
The failure of the Sahaja Yogis to heed this call is a betrayal of the highest order. They have chosen silence over proclamation, comfort over courage, and ritual over revelation. They have denied the world the knowledge of the Paraclete's advent and the dawning of the Kingdom of God. This is a tragedy that echoes the betrayal of Jesus by his own disciples, a failure of faith that has had devastating consequences for the spiritual evolution of humanity.
Conclusion: A Tragedy of Unparalleled Proportions
The story of Sahaja Yoga is a cautionary tale, a stark reminder of how easily a profound spiritual message can be distorted and trivialized. The movement that was meant to be a beacon of light in a world shrouded in darkness has become a flickering candle, its flame barely visible amidst the shadows of ritualism and dogma. The Sahaja Yoga organization, in its current state, is a betrayal of everything that Shri Mataji stood for. It is a testament to the human capacity for self-deception, the tendency to cling to the familiar and the comfortable even in the face of a divine revelation.
The ultimate tragedy lies not only in the betrayal of Shri Mataji's mission but in the squandered opportunity for humanity. The collective resurrection that she promised, the Kingdom of God that she inaugurated, remains a distant dream for the vast majority of humankind. The Sahaja Yogis, who were entrusted with the sacred task of spreading this message to the world, have instead become its gatekeepers, jealously guarding their own little kingdom of rituals while the world outside starves for spiritual nourishment.
The words of Jesus ring with a terrible poignancy in this context: The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
[4] The harvest of the End Times is indeed plentiful, but the workers, the true followers of the Paraclete, are tragically few. The world is in desperate need of the truth that Shri Mataji brought, the truth that has been so shamefully betrayed by those who claimed to be her disciples. This is a tragedy of unparalleled proportions, a stain on the spiritual history of our time. It is a betrayal that will be remembered, and lamented, for generations to come.
